weird sizing

This dress is so cute, I just wish it was sized correctly! I ordered the M and the bust fit but the waist was huge so I returned and the store happened to have a S, which I tried on and the bust was too small and the waist was perfect. I honestly loved the concept of the dress and the embroidery is so cute but I have no clue what type of fit model they used. Also wish the listing had photos on a model so I could understand how it’s intended to fit. I’m 5’6” 150lbs and athletic build
