This Covered Casserole dish is made of Cast Iron which has great heat retaining abilities: it s the perfect choice for slow cooking and for hearty stews prepared in the oven or on the stovetop. The cover locks in the moisture and small bumps on the interior make sure the evaporated juices are directed on to the food for extra tasty results. Only little oil is needed with this pan: the perfect option for low-fat frying. Wide handles for a safe grip, even when wearing oven mitts or using potholders.

Comes with wood handle

I can't use this in the oven. However, it fulfills all of my other requirements perfectly.

Excellent Pan!

Unlike some cast iron pans, this one is a perfect weight that is easy to handle. The design is not only elegant but also very pleasing to the eye. The solid ash handle is a particular delight and really sets this pan apart from others on the market.

Love my dutch oven!!!

I think this is the most beautiful dutch oven, and I get questions from guests about it all the time! It cooks things perfectly, and I've had great success making sourdough bread in it too. I've found the light color can get smudges baked on when you put it in a high-heat oven, but they came off really easily with a magic eraser sponge. If you're concerned, I think the black version is just as beautiful, but I love how the mint green looks in my kitchen. Highly recommend!

Great staple!

The 1st one came cracked and had to return. The replacement never leaves the stove as soon as I wash it, I use it again!
