Cute - but not right for me

I needed a white or gold dress for an event and thought that either of these would be perfect. First I ordered the gold tone - but it was HUGE - I am usually a medium and I ordered a large because I thought the brand might run small. It was so huge I couldn't really tell how it would look in my size. Plus, the gold color was more tan - it wasn't very luminous - so I ordered the 'silver' in two sizes - a medium and a small - The medium size arrived first and it was a little big - but the color was disappointing - The color said 'silver' but had so much luminosity in the photo on line - I thought it would pass for white. When it arrived it was really grey. Again no luminosity.I was disappointed - I never tried on the size small because it hadn't arrived on time and the color wasn't right for what I needed. It's a cute dress and a nice style - but it wasn't good on me. The color just washed me out.
