Sapper Regular Fit Weatherproof Waxed Cotton Jacket

The Sapper is a fantastic all-around Fall/Winter jacket. It's warm, but not too warm, with room to layer. It's a very solid travel jacket, as it's relatively light for a wax jacket, and yet has four big flapped pockets, plus a zippered chest pocket and an internal zippered wallet pocket. It's stylistically very versatile as it can be dressed-up, or dressed-down. It's also very well made (other than the drawstring for the waist, which tends to break upon first use, if you're not careful. I've owned this exact jacket for several years. I originally bought it in a size Large. I'm 175lbs, 5' 10" with a 40inch chest. By all accounts, Large should have been my size, as it is with nearly all other Barbour jackets. But the Sapper is VERY roomy. I lived with my size L for several years, and it was fine, but it always felt too big for me. I just ordered a Sapper from Nordstrom Rack in a size Medium, and it's PERFECT. It fits as I would expect it to, and is much more flattering than my old size Large. There's still room to layer underneath, but the silhouette is nice and clean. If you're ordering a Barbour International jacket, Ogston, Bedale, Beaufort or Corbridge, I'd suggest taking your normal size. But if you're getting the Sapper, think of it as one size larger than what's marked on the label. It will save you some time and hassle.
