The shoes had holes in the leather. Maybe it was from anti theft tags when they were in a store? Very silly to prevent theft, you ruin the shoes. Amazing that Nordstrom Rack managed to ruin perfectly good shoes. Such a waste. It really is a shame to punch holes through the sides of leather shoes. I had to return these as a result. Bummed because they were nice otherwise and this model of shoe isn’t made any longer.

But they are STIFF; it's going to take considerably longer to break these in than the previous model, the Cavanaugh. Still, I really appreciate that these are a basic, raw leather shoe with no extra padding or synthetic arch supports. It takes time, but it allows the shoe to truly mold to your foot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoes were comfortable right out of the box. No problem with traction or heel slippage. It is perfect for me: I can use them in the office on casual Fridays, but then I can dress them down (or up) for date night with my wife. I also throw them on with a pair of short pants to ger coffee on Saturday morning or go out for afternoon ice cream with my mom. These shoes are extremely flexible. That's why these are going to be my "go-to" shoes for travel. When I have them in the luggage (or on my feet), I have formal and casual shoes at the same time! I have not had them long enough for a proper patina to develop, but I am excited to see how it develops over the years. Based on the craftsmanship out of the box, I expect that the more I wear the shoes the more they will look like mine. I am extremely satisfied with this shoes!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the color-Antique Burgundy. I wear a 10 1/2 and ordered the D (normal) width. My first impression is that the length was fine but the normal width is a bit too wide for my feet. There was no option available to purchase a narrower size. I have heard that this may not be a problem after the sole gets more broken in. They look great with my casual work attire.
