Black is not black
Fabric soft and not heavy, but not really lightweight. But beware, the black color is not very black! They are a faded grayish color. True- to-size fit is good and comfortable , but they went back because of the color. Nordstrom needs to make their item description more descriptive!

Stretchy, washed black denim
I found these to fit the same as my other Brinley jeans but with a little more stretch so may actually want to size down. As another review mentioned, these are more of a washed/broken in black. Not a true, solid black. Rise hits me just below my belly button, are loose in the thighs, not skin tight, comfortable when sitting, and length hits at the top of my foot, below the ankle.

These pants are made from a thin and flowing fabric that works for their wide straight cut. I purchased a size down and they fit. They are comfortable and have a slightly worn look to the fabric, so they do not look like the dark black in the online photos. I didn’t care for the fabric.
