Barricade Tennis Sneaker (Women)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a male pickleball player. I have a pair of ladies volleyball shoes that I wear for indoor (hardwood) courts. I ordered these McCartneys the same size as my other female shoes. Unfortunately, my thought process didn't work. They were too small. And the size I did order was the largest available.

For reference, I’m an 8.5 most of the time (sometimes an 8 or 9 depending on brand). I usually wear an 8.5 in Adidas, so I ordered that size in these (especially since designer collabs like this Stella McCartney one tend to run small). ➡️ Fit: They’re huge. My big toe only reaches about halfway up the toe box. I’m worried even the size 8 might still be roomy, but I ordered it to try. The extra space makes them crease and look odd when walking. ➡️ Comfort & design: Despite the sizing issue, I gave them 5 stars because I love the design—the side tongue and side ties keep your foot secure without sliding. The toe box is wide and high, which is exactly what I needed while recovering from a toenail injury from tennis and wearing the wrong shoes for how I play. ➡️ Minor flaw: The tongue tends to fold inward near the toes, so you have to straighten it by hand and tie them tightly to prevent movement. ➡️ Overall: Excited to try the smaller size. I’ve worn On Clouds and New Balance before, but both had tighter toe boxes. These could be perfect once I dial in the sizing.
