Collin Water Resistant Knee High Lug Boot (Women)

I'm 5'5", 135 lbs, size 8 feet, athletic calves (16" at the widest part), bought these in size 8. Finding knee high boots has been impossible for me due to calf size. Even brands that advertize "extended calf" designs, haven't worked for me in the past and I know I'm not alone in this based on the comment sections (as an example Frye's extended calves go to 15 1/4"). These weren't advertized as extended calf and the measurement listed of 15 3/4" as the shaft didn't specify if this was the circumference or height, so I definitely felt like I was taking a risk ordering these. I am so glad I did, these boots are GORGEOUS and fit like a glove as you can see. The treatment of the calf extension (the strips of leather sewn over elastic on the medial aspect of the boot) is elegant and looks like a design feature as opposed to "we added an obvious elastic panel". The leather is supple and gorgeous, and I'm thrilled to know these are water resistant though will probably end up adding some leather conditioner and weather proofing just in case. Lug sole adds some edge to a classic design without looking clunky or too trendy. The circumference of the shaft opening is actually 16" (without engaging the extension panel). Shaft height from base of lug sole is 16 1/4". The fit of the vamp/upper/toe of the shoe portion is true to size, no pinching or sliding. These are stunning boots that will last a lifetime, I feel like I got an absolute steal at the Nordstrom Rack price. I wish the brown were in stock in my size, I would snatch them up!

I've been eyeing these boots for a while and decided to pull the trigger. I love the lug sole and the Vince/dark goth norwegian quality. But the calf of the boot curves out too far and since I'm tall and have long legs, hits in the wrong spot. I appreciate a wider calf and can work with it - as long as it's straight up. But I can't work with a curved boot that juts too low so that I essentially have double humps on the back of my leg like a dromedary camel turned sideways. Wished they had worked because they're amazing boots!
