Frye Newsboy Cap

I love the hat, but it smells terribly of fish. I tried everything possible to clean out the smell, including letting it sit out in the sun, putting baking soda in it, spraying it with vinegar, I even went so far as to wash it, and nothing helped. The smell is overwhelming. Unfortunately I had already thrown the tags away so I can't return the hat. It's probably going to have to go into the garbage.

I received this hat this past week. It's so cute. Unfortunately, it has an extremely strong fishy smell, most likely due to the faux leather. I put it out in the sun for 2 days hoping that it would air out, but no luck. Currently it's sitting in our laundry room full of baking soda to try to soak up the smell. And even though it says to only spot clean, I'm going to have to take the chance to actually wash it because I won't be able to keep it with that smell. If anybody walked past me they would think that I was the stinky one. Unfortunately, I can't return it because I threw the tags away. So I'm trying my best to make it work. Just buyer beware.
