I bought this bag to
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this bag to replace a previous-generation Flare that was well loved as my teacher bag and now serves as my hiking backpack. This new bag retains the features that I loved about the older one, including the front stash pocket, thoughtful organization, light weight, and sturdy build. The side pockets on this version seem slightly deeper, which is nice. My one criticism is that this newer version doesn't have a sternum strap. However, this remains an all-around excellent pack for commuting to work and going on adventures in the city.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For cycling, this feels like you're wearing a sheet of plywood on your back. It is OK for walking around with.
It is roomy, and has sufficient pockets. I'm not sure why they went with elastic loops over pen/pencil sleeves. That doesn't seem like an improvement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our high school kid loves it. Roomy enough to carry everything and yet well designed to handle the load. For sure, he will take that to college.

Let me begin with the fact that I LOVE osprey packs and own several. This commuter bag features great organization with a place for everything you need in a place that makes sense. I especially like the front pouch for quick grab.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a backpack to use for work because I got tired of lugging more than one tote or bag to school-I teach. The Flare 27 has exceeded my expectations. It will hold my laptop, planner, and papers to grade. There are plenty of pockets to put pens, highlighters, snacks, deodorant, and more. The outside pockets are stretchy and will hold a water bottle. I’ve even packed an extra outfit for going to the gym after work. I have an Osprey hiking backpack, so I knew this backpack would be worth the price.
