Half Zip Merino Wool Sweater

I have been on and off when it comes to looking for high quality, long lasting clothes. I was shocked to find a merino wool sweater, a 100% blend, at just $60 considering the price of other brands I've seen. I knew I had to try it, so I tried 3 sizes – S, M and L – with M fitting me the best as a mid-size guy on the line. It felt – and still feels – like a warm embrace, but without the sweat that comes from being in it for hours. I brisk walked in it the whole day in 86 F weather with only sweat on my face – but not on my armpits! It was something I never thought would come true. But then... before I went back home, I noticed a loose strand of fabric. I cut it so it wouldn't get longer, and then I realized at least 3 other loose strands. Barely loose. And some pilling. All on the first day of wearing this out and about. I hope that this doesn't continue as I want to wear this piece years from now. Or something like it. But, from just one day of commuting and swinging my backpack only when needed, there was already holes. Maybe it's because it's a lightweight fabric? Lesson learned: DON'T carry heavy loads if you want to wear this to ensure the quality is kept. I'm pretty sure my backpack weighed 10-16lbs in total, which I consider medium weight. That was enough for there to be holes on a supposedly high quality product. I'm just trying to beat the heat while looking dressy, and this piece does it... but with questionable quality.
