Like, but sad I sized up
I wish I hadn’t sized up after reading reviews. Normally size 23 and 24 is a little too big. Since my size is now sold out, I’m going to see if I can get the waste taken in without messing up the stripe design.

a real statement
Sizing remains all over the map. I’m 135, 5’1”, and often wear a 28 in all-cotton Mother jeans. I sized up to a 30 for these and the fit is good (at least before washing) in the waist and hips. They’re hugely long, but I expected to alter them if kept.
The striping is very bold, especially if you’re used to jeans being neutrals. I’m a little on the fence about whether this is too bold for me. I’ve tried them with different tops, and on me I think they look best with fitted black or white. A cropped black blazer dresses them up nicely. Boxy crop Ts in mid-tone colors are okay. But the jeans really are the star of the show.
The fabric feels really nice and soft. I had to double check that they’re not made with lyocell. On my frame the back pockets are a little low, but that’s not uncommon. The front patch pockets won’t hold as much as true jeans, but these are more about fashion (while still fairly easy and practical.)

Big fan of Mother denim, but these are not it. They’re weirdly short in the crotch and feel thin and cheap. Bought two different sizes to see if that helped and they were both terrible. Poor execution of what could’ve been a really cool style.
