The Half-Pipe Frayed Hem Denim Bermuda Shorts

These denim shorts are just what I’ve been looking for. The material is more of a denim with a slight bit of stretch in them. I’m 5’9 and these hit at the perfect length right at mid knee. Not just your average denim shorts either nice detail stitching on the side. They also are flattering from all angles.

The style is cute, the wash is really good, but the denim feels wet. It was such a weird hand feel that I checked the shipping pouch for water damage or any indication it had been submerged in water (these shipped from the east coast during a period of flash flooding) but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Regardless, they feel gross and I’m returning them. I have several pairs of MOTHER jeans and tons of their tops and sweaters and these one just feel strange. For sizing I’d say these run on the smaller side. I’m usually a 29/30 and in MOTHER jeans I have as small as a 28 and as big as a 31 that all fit me well. I ordered these in size 31 and they fit almost perfectly. I have a high waist and long torso and select waist size based on inseam length (longer inseam usually means smaller waist size works best for me). I ordered The Whole Lot Frayed Hem Denim Shorts on the same day in size 29 and those fit really well with a fun, relaxed fit through the waist and hips and a more flattering length. On me they looked shorter than on the model which NEVER happens. They just don’t work for my short legs and actually made my knees look fat. I’ve seen them on other people and they look fantastic so it’s definitely a me problem. Keeping The Whole Lot Frayed and think I’ll get a lot of use out of them. If you go for the Half Pipe Frayed Shorts, size up 1-2 sizes.
