Used to be better
Super disappointed with the changes made the the McMurdo over the past few years. My first McMurdo from 2018 had a more luxurious fabric, the current version uses very cheap feeling normal nylon. My original used metal snap enclosures instead if velcro... The current velco version easily catches and pulls apart the soft cuff material. The snaps on the hood were metal, but are now plastic, so if I try to pick the jacket up by the fur hood liner, it just tears away from the rest of the jacket and I have to sit there and re-snap it all back together. My original had a built in face mask, the new version does not. This jacket used to be awesome, but currently it's nothing special

I would buy this product again and I recommend you do too
Wore this coat while raking leaves in the yard...extremely warm for the coldest elements the northeast has to offer...

I recommend this coat.
Very nice coat. It seems well made and is very warm. It runs a little large, I ordered a large and ended up exchanging it for a medium. Seems like they've done away with the Velcro and now have buttons.

Not great
Where do I start? The parka is warm and well-insulated for cold weather, but it suffers from serious design flaws. The Velcro at the cuffs gradually tears them apart, almost as if it were a built-in self-destruct feature. Over time, the cuffs become completely unusable. Worse still, while it's normal for your hands to feel dry or cracked in the cold, the pocket zippers on this jacket are incredibly abrasive. I've actually cut my hands multiple times just reaching into the pockets - to the point where I avoid wearing this jacket altogether. Instead, I've switched back to other gear from The North Face that's treated me much better. I don't know if newer versions have addressed these issues, but my experience with this generation of the McMurdo Parka has been disappointing and frustrating.
