These are substantial weight fabric, and very soft to the touch. The waist band has a large, flat elastic band that has not rolled down at all when I wear them. No drawstring as the elastic is strong enough to hold them in place around your waist. I like the pant leg rather than a cuff at the ankle, it makes for a more flattering line and fit. I highly recommend these pants if you want a soft but attractive sports wear pant to be a little step up from a jogger pant. I ordered my usual size and these fit very well. Generous length, but not overly long - I am 5'9" and these are perfect.
