Dark brown appears black.
I thought the pants were mislabeled. The dark brown appeared black. The fabric is unusual: folded it feels spongy or like foam. Nicely constructed with pockets. The rise is a little short for me (my thicker waist pulls it up). Plenty of length, at 5’4”, I would need to hem at least 2 “. Returning due to color and rise. The thick fabric would have been ok- no wrinkles and nice drape.
