The Citywalk Lugsole Lace-Up Boot (Women)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the versatile winter boot I was looking for. They have the added bonus of lasting into spring and only going up for the summer months. They're lace up boots but have an inside zipper for easy removal. I've treated them with leather waterproofing spray and they still look perfect despite years of wear and tear. I've used them for everything from date night to a chilly fall football game to the office. Highly versatile and a really well made or should I say Madewell product.

I purchased these boots in December 2021, and I am disappointed that the sole has come off as of December 2024, especially since it is the middle of winter right now. I can count the number of times I have worn these boots on one hand, meaning they were not even fully broken in yet. I usually expect my boots to last for several years, not to have to replace them every three years. As a long-time fan of Madewell, I have noticed a decline in quality recently, and this experience has been the last straw for me. It is disheartening to see a brand I once trusted contribute to fast fashion with products that lack sustainability and fail to stand the test of time.
