The wash is amazing and while I didn’t know these didn’t have a zipper it was a nice surprise! Great details when cuffed ! Have worn and washed them and the color is still amazing!

Godsend for athletic builds
As someone with an athletic build with large thighs, I have always had difficulty finding a pair of selvedge jeans that provide ample leg room while also fitting in the waist The amount of stretch in these jeans alleviates this issue, and provides a degree of comfort and movement that I didn't think was possible with selvedge denim - all while still retaining the straight look and fit. The denim is softer than typical selvedge and requires less of a break in period to become comfortable. Overall, I very happy with these jeans, and they are the best pair of selvedge denim I have owned.

Really big and kinda itchy
These run at least 1 maybe 2 waist sizes bigger than my other Madewell straight stretch jeans. I’m going to try another wash as I also had a hard time substantiating the up-charge for the selvedge denim witch didn’t have a great feel agains my skin.
