Runs small
Usually Madewell runs at least a size big, but surprisingly, these shorts run quite small. I'm a size 4 in pants or a 26/27 in jeans, and got these in a 27, thinking they'd be roomy. Nope! They were quite tight. I'd have to size up at to at least a 29 for them to work. The overall shape and odd pocket placement, plus the cheap feel of the stretch denim made these a pass anyway.

Finally! I found a pair of shorts that fit well and aren’t too short or too long. 4” inseam for the win. I need this short in every color.
