Lupita Ruched Body-Con Dress

I love AFRM dresses and have 4 of them that are very similar to this style, minus the ruching. They are my go-to favorite dresses! Unfortunately, this dress misses the mark for me due to the fact that it isn't fully lined. It is lined (in black) in the bra area and from the waist down, but the midrift area is not lined, leaving only the semi-sheer floral fabric to cover the skin. Since I have pale skin, the visual difference between the semi-sheer midrift and the lined bra/waist-down areas was noticeable and detracted from the overall look of the dress. This is not visible on the model wearing this dress. Additionally, the bottom seam from the top bra-area lining and the top seam from the waist-down lining both rubbed my skin and were uncomfortable to me. Had AFRM created the lining to run the entire length of the dress this problem would have been eliminated and the dress would have been perfect for me. If you have darker skin then perhaps the sheer part won't be as noticeable on you as it was on me, or maybe that effect is a feature for you. This dress is well-made, looks just like it does on the Nordstrom website (minus the sheer part), and like the other AFRM dresses I have in this fabric will likely never wrinkle. It travels wonderfully, breathes nicely and stretches to fit your shape. For reference, I am 5'5", 150lbs, 32DDD, pear shaped with a little belly, and I wear a size medium in this dress. The stretch in this dress makes it very forgiving of moderate weight fluctuations. I prefer to have Nordstrom alter the length of my AFRM dresses to just below my knee, as I find that most flattering to my figure.
