Easy Smocked Yoke Top

Top is floaty and loose, so size up not for tightness but overall appearance - sleeves hit at a weird length and the top just looks small otherwise. Slightly see-thru but nothing to think twice about. Has faint metallic gold threading which is such a pretty touch. Very light, flowy, and feminine. And right now (May 2024) it’s on sale at a fraction of this price directly on the Lucky Brand site.

Bought in floral & taupe. Pic looks like the taupe is a deep dusty rose. But, it's a gross brown w/ GOLD metallic stitching! What?? In the pic, looks like a paler color stitching with no shimmer detected. Floral top is very pretty, but style of these is bizarre, These hung down like a bell shape & there was a huge "gap" between the top & my waist/jeans. Just would not hang down straight. So, I tried to tuck these in. But, not enough fabric to do this w/o doing a "severe" tuck. I think the way these models are standing (arms close to sides, shoulders shrugging) doesn't show how they really fit if your'e walking or standing. I wish stores would stop showing pics of models "flirting" in weird poses or "experiencing" life and just stand still (show me arms up/ arms down/ams out to the side, front and back, & give me the model's weight and height shown). All of the other Lucky tops I've ever purchased fit great- I wanted to like these- not even worth the steep discount price. I'm 5'5",150 lbs. My 18 y/o daughter is 5' 4" and 130 pounds (we both wear medium) and she tried the top on as well. It fit just the same (like a "bell"- & this is not a "just needs to be ironed" thing), despite having a smaller bust size than I do. She was even more annoyed with the elastic cuffs than I was. And on both of us they hit shorter than the wrist, but are not 3/4 length, so they just look like the arms shrunk in the laundry. Neckline & shoulders seems fit comfortably. Hope I see the floral patterned fabric in a different style top, later in the season. My husband was grossed out by the taupe color as well.
