Longchamp
In 1948, Jean Cassegrain turned his Paris tobacco shop—where he was known to cover his pipes in an exquisite leather—into an accessories business. Named after the famed horse track on the outskirts of Paris, Longchamp is still family owned and operated, creating superbly crafted handbags and luggage lauded for a decidedly understated, always chic look.

Ridiculous design
I don't know what kind of genius designed this backpack series. Instead of the typical two adjustable straps, it uses a single long strap that connects to a hook at the bottom. The strap length seems suited for someone at least 5'8". I'm a 5'4", and at its shortest setting, the bag hangs awkwardly near the hip, making it both uncomfortable and funny looking. While there is technically room to punch two additional holes in the strap to shorten the length, doing so would leave an excessively long strap end dangling in the front, which looks even more awkward. Unfortunately, this issue appears to be consistent across other sizes in the same series. It really feels like Longchamp designed this line with only taller people in mind. The leather craftsmanship is solid, as always, and that’s the only reason this earns even one star.
