Double Breasted Trench Coat

The fit is TTS, with enough shoulder room for a light sweater or sweatshirt underneath. Fits just above the knee and has secured pockets. Lots of buttons and some feel a little loose. I bought it since it’s a trench with detachable hood - I appreciate the different ways of wearing it. I also wanted a coat with a storm flap, which it does. Only minor con is the fabric is a bit shiny, but it’s water repellent so there’s an upside.

The coat itself is beautiful and timeless however, the XL did not fit me, runs really small. I have wide shoulders and large chest so it did not work for me. So that I could properly layer this it would need to be 50 inches around the chest area. I would probably need a 3X in this so I could layer it with my wardrobe. I usually purchase coats at XL for layering. This just runs small

I love a good classic trench. The length is between jacket and full length coat, which makes it right for travel. I want it to be good in case it rains, to look good with casual or slightly dressier clothing and short enough for walking around a city.) Because screens can sometimes alter color a bit, I never know if an item will suit my preferences. I’m particular about color. This trench is an almost exact match to spring’s beige if you carry a House of Colour palette. It definitely harmonizes with all the other neutrals. The finish is a bit shiny, so you can really throw it on with something dressier in case you want to go to a concert, an opera or the theatre. It’s a bit heavy, so not a packable piece. (wear it on the plane!) One slight drawback: the coat has plenty of buttons and a few seemed to be sewn on too loose. I’ll have to get them re-enforced.
