True Mary Jane Pump

I really wanted to love these. The Dark Cherry color is gorgeous and the classic Mary Jane style is exactly what I was looking for, but the actual shoe missed the mark on two fronts. First, sizing: I ordered an 8W and they fit more like a 9. There's no way to size down given they already run wide, so I'm stuck with shoes that don't hug my foot the way a Mary Jane should. If you're between sizes, order down. Second, the stiffness is a real problem. I expected some break-in period, but these are rigid across the vamp and around the strap in a way that's made them uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour or two. A shoe like this should have some give from the start, especially at this price point. The look is there — the comfort and construction aren't. Hoping they soften up with wear, but as of now I can't recommend buying true to size.
