The Shower Filter

I live in Orlando, Florida. I thought this filter was functioning well (didn’t really notice any change yet in skin/hair though) for about 3 weeks and then my water pressure changed to a dribble. Luckily I had bought a replacement filter with my original purchase and changing that out made my shower’s water pressure return to normal. I can’t afford to be switching out the filter every 3 weeks, so I’ll be getting a different shower filter from elsewhere that hopefully lasts longer.

For effectiveness in filtering water I would give this product 5 stars, but install was another story. It should absolutely be easy to install as I've installed many shower heads previously. I found the primary filter connecting part that attaches to the shower pipe itself, to be poortly made of plastic, and should be a bit longer. I had to remove the plastic gasket with small metal filter inside the Kitsch filter connecting part, in order to get it to affix to the shower pipe properly. After several attempts prior to successfully attaching with no leaks, the wrench put several divots into the platic part and removed the paint. In the end it works and I'll stick with this one vs. requesting a new one given poor materials. The filtering made a difference immediately - water feels so much softer and no red skin post-shower. Highly recommend for filtering effectiveness - just be aware of potential install challenges.

Good filter, works well for my skin and hair and scalp. Be careful when tightening as the base can crack extremely easily. If you have a good amount of hard water, i recommend changing the filter earlier cause it can get hard to open it. I had to buy a new one due to the base cracking. Will continue to use because i ordered a lot of refills, but i might switch afterwards,
