Floral Lace Short Sleeve Fit & Flare Midi Dress

I wanted to love this dress. It has sequins everywhere, which are not shown in the picture. I felt like the sequins took away from the elegance and made it look cheap. It has a very stiff feeling to it, especially in the shoulders and hips. The pockets make the hips stick out and looks odd. Returning it.

I ordered this for an event, knowing that I was taking a gamble, based on mixed reviews. I'm pretty fussy and this dress well exceeded my expectations. The a-line, fit and flare style works well for me as I'm a bit of a pear shape. In terms of negative reviews posted - this dress does NOT look cheap IRL! It's stretchy and comfy and has that sort of Audrey Hepurn classic style that makes it a good go-to. The belt is sort of a satin tie/sash that I thought I would have to replace when I saw it online, but it works well for the dress. Also - someone commented on the sequins looking cheap. I don't think so - they're clear and are nestled strategically in with the lacey overlay, so they give off a subtle 'bling' that is very plausable and not the slightest bit 'Vegas.' The V neck is the perfect length - not too low, but also keeps the black color of the lace away from my face, as I don't wear black much anymore now that I'm getting older. The nude undershell is stretchy and soft, so the lace isn't directly contacting your skin. The dress zips up the back easily and is comfy to sit in. It doesn't wrinkle and I didn't think the pockets laid strangely or bunched at all like some reviews said - it nice, smooth lines. This is a great little number to have on hand for evening events. Again - I'm super fussy and hypersensitive to things that look cheap or awkward. Pairs well with sling back shoes or strappy sandals in either black or nude. I'm very happy with the purchase and you CANNOT beat the price.
