Smocked Belted Ski Puffer Jacket with Faux Fur Hood

This is cute and more understated than it looks in the picture. It's also beautifully warm. The cons, however: 1) the hood if left to fall naturally, comes to the level of my nose so I can't see anything. I have not found a mechanism to tighten it to stand up so I can look out rather than peer through the fau fur. This is what cost is 2 stars. If I can figure out a fix I will edit this to 4 stars 2) the belt loops are small enough where inserting the belt through is a pain and apprent;y large enough that the belt keeps unravelling 3) this is probably me but I the padding does make my butt look pretty.. padded. Then again, I have packed on 15 lbs in a year and a half, which has nevessitated the purchase of fat clothes. That part isn't a big deal - if the padding provides the warmth, it is worth it. I'm 5'3" and now about 135lbs? so I bought a M and it fits well.

I ordered two jackets. This one came first. I am 5’8.5”, 137 lbs. A small is a perfect fit, I take a size 6. The jacket looks slim and has really nice lines to the jacket. It is very warm. Only thing wrong is I will probably not use the belt. If you look at the back of the coat in the image, it appears to ‘pull’ a little bit at the back belt hook. Perhaps a small will fit someone also slim but a little shorter, and the belt will sit on the waist better. But, I actually like the coat better without the belt. The belt loops look like decorative additions without the belt. When the other jacket arrives, I will compare both of them (also from Nordstrom but more than twice the price). The second jacket has to be pretty darn nice for me not to keep this jacket and return the second one.
