Teleported 21-Inch Expandable Spinner Suitcase

This suitcase failed in its maiden voyage. Unfortunately, the failure occurred while it was in Belize! The zippers came off their tracks; the suitcase had to be taped shut and checked to get home.

I spent weeks searching for the perfect international carry-on for our upcoming trip to Europe and Iceland. Austrian Airlines and Icelandair have some of the strictest carry-on size requirements, so finding something that actually fit their dimensions (and was still well made) was much harder than I expected. At first, I bought the Amazon Travel Select Amsterdam bag because the dimensions were right. Unfortunately, it looked and felt so cheap-o that I worried it would get destroyed if I ever had to check it. Honestly, it made me a little sad every time I looked at it...not exactly how you want to feel before an exciting trip. Then someone in a Facebook travel group recommended this bag, and I'm so glad they did. It's beautifully constructed, feels sturdy and well made, and fits the airline size requirements perfectly. The other bag that gets recommended over and over for European airlines is the Travelpro Maxlite 5 (20-inch, two-wheel version). It's an excellent bag, but it costs around $160 and, in my opinion, isn't nearly as attractive as this one. I was able to buy this IT bag for both my husband and me for about the same price as a single Travelpro. I spent so much time researching luggage that I wanted to leave a review in hopes of saving someone else the same hassle. If you're flying airlines with strict carry-on limits like Austrian Airlines or Icelandair, this bag is definitely worth considering. Of course, if you are checking in a bag - none of this matters. We are trying to do the "Rick Steves" style of travel with just a carry-on and small backpack.

I love the luggage but I didn’t realize until I was all packed that the handle was cut, I’m sure that happened when the store was unpacking and placing on shelves. It’s a deep cut, but I was already packed and couldn’t return it, I noticed it upon heading to airport.

I alway overpack for any trip. Now with airline delays and cancellations, I decided to take back some control by using a small carry on and a backpack. This means mixing and matching clothing which can be very creative. My purse needs to be small and fit in the backpack since the airlines often restrict you to 2 items. The teleporter has 4 wheels which is a must while walking through the long corridors and wheeling over carpeted areas of an airport. Since I'm retired, I'm going to practice lifting it to get ready to lift it into the storage compartment.

I'm writing this to back up Suzanne and Susan's reviews. I looked and looked and looked for a carry-on spinner that meets most European limits. Aside from the size, weight is also a big factor. This bag is lightweight, compact, and serviceable with zippered compartments and a lock. You often sacrifice these with smaller bags. As far as I can tell, this bag is the best you can do at this price point. Bon voyage!

Decent suitcase, fit everything I needed and worked well BUT, the Wheels are too close together so when you have a small bag or backpack on top, it tips over
