Akira Backpack

I purchased the black version for commuting, and I’m extremely pleased with it. It is incredibly lightweight, yet very well made and thoughtfully designed. The quality feels excellent, and I especially appreciate that the logo is subtle and not overly noticeable. The orange accents add just the right amount of character without being flashy. The size is perfect for my daily commute. It easily fits my iPad, lunch, water bottle, cosmetic pouch, and other essentials. The padded shoulder straps make it very comfortable to carry, even when fully loaded. One of my favorite features is the simple main compartment design. The sleeve for a laptop or iPad and the space for other belongings are accessed through a single zipper opening, making it easy to pack and organize everything without dealing with multiple compartments. The upper exterior pocket is particularly well designed. Inside, it has two separate sections that neatly hold my ID cards, AirPods, and cellphone. Even better, the zipper pull has a small hole that can be secured with a keychain hook, which provides extra peace of mind against pickpocketing when I’m standing on a crowded subway with the backpack on my back. The side pockets are also excellent because they can be adjusted to accommodate different sizes. Whether I’m carrying a large water bottle or a slim umbrella, everything stays secure. Overall, this backpack is lightweight, highly functional, and thoughtfully engineered. It has quickly become one of my favorite everyday bags, and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a stylish and practical commuter backpack.

I wanted to love this backpack and did until I tried it on! The fabric is sturdy, soft to the touch and a medium weight. The zippers and cinches move easily. It's the right size and it has the right number of compartments. I planned to use it for an upcoming trip abroad but as soon as I tried it on, I knew it had to go back. The straps are very square and slippery--not padded or contoured to hug your body. They sit much wider than it looks in the photos. I couldn't spend my whole trip constantly pulling them up to keep the backpack on. This might not bother or apply to everyone. Too bad the designers didn't try it on.
