Pleated Colorblock Stripe Maxi Skirt

I wanted to love this skirt so bad. It’s beautiful and fun. I love the pleated fabric and the way it flows, but it runs really big. I am usually either an xsmall or a small and the xsmall was significantly too big for me. There were no xxsmalls available so I’m not sure if sizing down would have worked.

So, the fabric contents says "polyester" but from the look of this, I thought it was a polyester knit that fit and hung like a knit. It isn't that at all. It is a thin fabric with knife pleats. The skirt is fully lined ( to below the knee) and has an elastic waist. I am undecided about kerping it. The knife pleats dont hang very nicely on the body and add fabric around the waist. And, which us unusual for me, this sjirt is long - I am 5'9" and it is nearly ankle length on me. Because of the breadth of the fabric, altering this will cost a fortune. The colors are nice and I have a lot in my closet that works (which is why I purchased it) but this won't really won't work with a camel hair jacket.
