Ruth Base Layer Leggings

I really, really want to love these. They fit nice, and I can tell they'd be warm, but I do find them slightly itchy--and I love wool, don't normally find it itchy. Either this small amount of wool is very, very cheap (in which case, these will pill quite significantly with wear), or the viscose is the problem? I'm leaning towards keeping them, maybe they'd soften with some wear, but for the price and materials, I expected something more comfy cozy. Also wish the leg seam didn't wrap around and look so prominent; that makes it harder to wear these to the office under skirts (they would be able to pass as thick tights without that weird seam, but as it is, they definitely read as activewear). But the fit is nice, wish there was a petite length (these are about 2-3" long on my short frame).
