Sculpted Velvet Blazer

I pondered purchasing this blazer for months because the price seemed to high. When it went on sale I snagged it and am very satisfied. Yes, the front snap is exposed, but it’s not that distracting to me. The sleeves are about 2” too long (and I have long arms) but I’m okay with that, too. I liked the jacket so much that I also purchased it in the red and green colors from another retailer. I’m 5’1” 126lbs, athletic build and went with the small.

I fell in love with this jacket the minute I saw it. The chic silhoulette and squared shoulders are perfect for providing a feminine shape to my plus sized torso. And black velvet! On trend and would have been the go to blazer for every winter outing. It looks fantastic on, and the flared, zip sleeves are extra cool. But the velvet fabric is thick, stiff and heavy, more appropriate for an outer layer - meaning jacket to wear outside, vs a fashion layer meant to wear inside to work or parties. I was so disappointed and had to return, but if this jacket could be made with a lighter weight fabric, I'd buy it again and in several colors if it were available. Thank you to these designers for creating the perfect silhouette, and I'm sure someone who wears a smaller size or doesn't get hot easily will find this jacket the most exciting thing in their winter wardrobe.

So disappointed. This looked so nice in the picture but the design has bad detailing/design: the front closure is a magnet (!!??) so if you wear it open you can see the silver magnet on the opposite side of the "button" cover - so bad. And the sleeves (which are ridiculously long - and I'm a tall girl) have a zipper closure with a dangling zipper pull! I mean, who is ever going to unzip your sleeve on a blazer and who wants a dangling cheesy zipper pull on your wrist? Not me. And did I mention that it runs SUPER big? Definitely not "sculpted" at all.
