Patrick Popover Henley

I purchased this during the anniversary sale as I was curious about the brand. The shirt is slightly cropped and has an unhemmed body and sleeves. I dislike raw edge jeans and I am over the cropped look, but I decided to give this a try based on the reviews. I really like the shirt. The sleeves seem to taper and fit closer to the arm from the elbow down. Not at all tight, it’s a subtly feminine and elegant touch. It isn’t too cropped, it does look great on but an inch or so shorter would not, the designers put some thought into the length. The body fits loosely so if you prefer a trimmer fit consider sizing down. Because it is 100% cotton and slightly cropped I was concerned about shrinkage so I stayed with the small. I can see why people love this Henley as it is wonderfully comfortable and cosy on. I fly a lot and it is a great base shirt or layering garment for chilly airplanes. I took away one star as I am going to hand wash this and dry it flat to preserve the length on an unhemmed shirt, I just don’t trust that there won’t be shrinkage otherwise.

I have wanted to try a Frank & Eileen shirt for so long. The great price during the NSale seemed like the perfect opportunity. I ordered a medium which is the smaller of my two normal sizes and this shirt was very loose and unflattering. The fabric was rough and uncomfortable. I honestly can't understand why these shirts have such a cult following. At least now I have satisfied my curiosity and can check it off my list.
