Montecito Cotton Sweater

I’m 5’2” 155 lbs & my extra weight is in my rear and legs. I wear an XS in all the Eileen shirts so I was expecting a small in the Montecito to have been slouchy big with room for layering. Unfortunately this was huge and very boxy. The continuous seam on the sleeves was different and interesting and it’s clearly a well made cotton sweater, but I didn’t feel there was enough bang for the buck to reorder in an XS. Reviews on the F&E website report that the sweater “grows” when worn often and that was also a concern.

Beautiful sweater. The fabric is extremely soft, and the fit is perfect. I am 5’3”, so most pieces like this are too large and loose for me. They make me look like I am playing dress up in my mother’s clothes. This sweater is loose, but drapes close enough to the body so it doesn’t overwhelm me,

I've worn this sweater twice and both times I had a great experience. It is thick enough to be warm, but not so much that I'm too hot--it breathes. It lays nice. The neck opening seems just right. I had a compliment when I wore it with a black puff vest to a basketball game. Since I have not washed it, I cannot comment on its durability performance. I will be interested to see if keeps from pilling over a few washings.

This 100% cotton knit sweater feels luxurious. F&E says it won’t pill. I just received the sweater and plan on hand washing it and drying flat. Extra care does not bother me if it means this sweater will retain its ultra lux texture. I usually wear size Large in F&E tops but ordered the sweater in medium and am happy with the fit.
