Everyday Flowy Cover-Up Tunic

I bought this as a beach coverup for summer vacation in Italy. I loved the fit even though the material has a tendency towards wrinkling. It was exactly what I was looking for. However, the first time I wore it I noted that the seams around the bottom of the neck opening were opening up, giving a threadbare look. I liked the fit so much I figured it would likely make it for the trip before it tore. However, then I noticed weird orange stains appearing in random spots throughout the garment. The spots did not correspond to any place food could fall (some were at the collar) nor did they correspond to contact with a bathing suit. All spots were the same color and they multiplied by the moment. I began to wonder if it was lotion or something interacting with the fabric so I decided to wash it (hand wash in the sink). The stains remained and got worse. More appeared. I handed it off to my Italian mother in law who first washed it by hand scrubbing the stains with a soap, then she washed it in the machine, the stains remained and multiplied even more. Given it was now completely unwearable, the third time she dipped it in bleach to try to remove the stains. The bleach got rid of some of the stains but several remained. After it air dried she went back on the remaining stains with spots of bleach and nothing changed. But now the fibers are disintegrating so the shirt looks like has been worn for many years. I loved wearing it the one time, but the quality makes it disposable after one wear and worse than fast- fashion.
