Lace Asymmetric Cocktail Dress

This dress was so comfortable and made me feel so beautiful. I am 137 lbs and 5'3". I carry extra weight in my tummy and hips (after having children). I wore shapewear with this dress but almost didn't even need to. It is fitted just at the waist (my smallest point) and then floats away at the hips and tummy so its really flattering. I wore a size 8 and I felt it was true to size.

I bought this in navy for a relative's destination wedding and have worn it several times since. It always gets compliments. It's a dress you could wear to a beach-wedding with flats or with pumps for an event with a cocktail or semi-formal dress code. Because of the lace, it also travels well. Plus it hides that little bulge I can't get rid of since I had kids. Yay! Know that the navy color looks black in certain lighting. (No one I know is weird about what colors wedding guests wear. But some people are.)

I tried this dress on in the store and I have to say it looks much better in person than on the website. The uneven edge of the hemline is the real game changer here. A woman who saw me in the dressing room trying it on went and got the same dress and bought it too. I'm 5/1, 120lbs and got a size 4.
