Gingham Sleeveless Organic Linen Shift Dress

This gingham dress is really adorable, BUT… It’s very thin, and due to the crinkle texture, doesn’t really feel like linen. It’s a bit scratchy , and seems like it could rip or split easily. I’m 5’10, 220, with a bit of a belly and the XL fits me comfortably, but probably wouldn’t have if I gained 10 lbs. The length hits me a couple inches above the knee, which is about as short as I want to go in a dress. There is also a 5” slits on the sides, which takes the reveal to mid-thigh for me. The armholes are just right, no gaps or bra exposure. Nice collar and neck. The pockets are positioned front and center, and are of good size, but I’d be concerned with the weight of my phone or keys pulling the dress wonky, and/or ripping the pocket because the fabric is so thin. Not the kind of pockets to just rest your hand in either. It’s almost perfect, but not quite there, and for the price, I really wanted to LOVE it. Hoping it will grow on me.

I delicate, cold-washed and dried this dress on low. The linen packered beautifully. It might have shrunk 3%. OK for me. I steamed the body for a couple minutes to see how it would look. I hadn't needed to steam it, tho. High quality linen makes this a cool choice for summer wash n wear travel. I use it to wear in-between layering (and drying down) skincare (like a sleeveless but durable robe).
