Crewneck Wool Sweater

This is a bit of bummer. The sweater is lightweight and nice quality. I was hoping to use it as extra layer in cooler, spring weather. Unfortunately, it's not a true crewneck - the neck is a little too wide. What this means is that if I have a t-shirt under it, you can see the t-shirt sticking out from under the neck of the sweater. I don't think this looks great, so I wouldn't be able to use this as a top layer. Returning it unfortunately. A note on sizing - I'm normally a size S, the XS fit perfectly for this sweater.

While these are beautiful sweaters (I bought a couple more when they went on sale as they fit so well)….the quality is surprisingly not up to par as holes developed in two of my sweaters after wearing only one or two times. I am a huge fan of Eileen Fisher and own many EF sweaters and other items of clothing that have held up for years. And so… I shall pack up and return the unworn sweater as I’m afraid it will suffer the same fate.

I’ve got 5 of these EF sweaters I’ve collected over the last 8 years or so. They are very light weight, washable and look terrific with most any pants you’d like to pair them with. This one like a couple others I have are wool, but you’d never know it. Super cool, thin and comfy. I machine wash in cold water and fluff for about 10 min in the dryer before laying them out to dry the rest of the way. In the winter, I wear a silky t underneath and in the summer, I don’t need anything underneath. The reason I did not give the 5th star, they are expensive. No doubt. But, if you take care of what you purchase and choose wisely, like with these sweaters, they are timeless and classy looking, so it really is an investment piece. Mine have never shrunk. Based on how you like them to fit, I can wear the small or medium and both look great. For reference, I’m 5’6”, 145 pounds.
