The Tress Press 1-Inch Straightening Iron

I bought this straightener about 6 months ago and it’s been OK. My previous straightener lasted me 4 years and cost around $60. I have super curly hair and use straighteners a lot in the winter time and for traveling. My last straightener was great for traveling because it had a locking mechanism, longer swivel cord, international adaptability and auto shut off. I bought this one because of DryBar’s reputation and wanted to see if I could get better quality. The yellow paint has been peeling, the device doesn’t lock, nor have the little foot to stand on the counter. It straightens my hair and that’s all I can say about it. Would I recommend this product? No. Go with Remington, you’ll get more for much less.

This product was a complete waste of money. Died a little after warranty period of 2 years, with light use. Last GHD straightener I had lasted 10 years! Went with this because it’s cheaper and had good reviews. Really disappointing, it will no longer stay on for more than a second. Drybar was unhelpful, strict 2 year warranty. It’s been only 2.5 years.

I have no complaints as far as performance goes, I have thick semi curly hair and it does exactly what I need it to do. It’s a straightener so, it’ll damage your hair regardless, not sure why people are mentioning it will kill your hair. However, this straightener has stopped working on me twice. The first time within two years of purchase, I contacted DryBar and they sent me a replacement. Unfortunately, one year later, it’s stopped working again. I take good care of my hot tools and with seldom usage in efforts of keeping my hair healthy. With that said, I probably don’t need an almost $200 straightener, but for that price it better last me as long as my CHI did that lasted me from middle school into my early 20’s! Very disappointed.
