Fantastic shoe
I've been wearing variations of this shoe for over 30 years. It is still one of the most comfortable sandals for my foot although I wouldn't recommend it for an extended jaunt. It's a handsome shoe although it's not lightweight by any means. The new top knot is a nice detail and distracts from my rather large and wide foot. :-)

Poor Quality
I had been purchasing Donald Pliner sandals for many years and have always loved the look, style and fit, when they were originally made in the Mountains of Italy. When the manufacturing was outsourced to other countries, particularly China, they continued to look similarly, cost the same, but are now of very poor quality. I ordered two pairs, in two different colors, which were shipped in one larger box and when opened the toxic fumes which emanated from within was sickening. Not only terribly disappointing, but dangerous.

Not for walking hours
If you’re looking for the Donald J Pliner of old …ie Made in the Mountains of Italy…don’t buy these.
They still make the Made in Mountains..but they make a cheaper level now and these are of that ilk. These shoes are adorbs but they are stiff as all get out and the material is stiff as well so it hurts the toes.

love but.....
I have 5 pairs of Donald Pliner shoes and love them all, but these feel very loose and my foot moves around a lot! They may have to go back. trying to figure out if there is some way to fill them in. They are beautiful shoes.

Toe strap is unbearably rough
The strap between the toes has changed and it is not smooth leather. As a result the shoes are very uncomfortable. Very disappointed. Have two other older pairs that don’t have this issue

Great Price! Cute but uncomfortable.
Very cute Pliner sandals. However, they are a bit rigid, stiff. Not very comfortable. My sister has the same sandal. She said they became more comfortable over time but it does take awhile. Price wise, they are $80 cheaper from Nordstrom Rack than buying directly from Donald Pliner.
