Utility Jacket

The jacket looks so very nice on the model and so very awful in person. It has no more body than a limp dishrag. The tan color is nice and I wish it looked like the picture. The limp, wrinkly fabric is just a mess and the ruching at the hemline is difficult to adjust. To top it off, it is very oversized and sloppy looking. It went back.

This is a nice jacket. It is roomy. I am usually either an XS or S, and got a S in this jacket. Good for layers underneath, but possibly size down if just wearing a thin tee underneath. The shoulder seams are dropped and the sleeves dolman-like. It is very comfortable and has a stylish look. The fabric contains linen and cotton and has a very nice soft feel and drape. Too, the tan color is actually very pretty in person. The bottom edge has a ruffled look if you draw the cord to fit closer. If you do draw it up, the cords will hang down from inside; so I secured them with safety pins where you can't see them. MAIN ISSUE: Be advised that the front placket, that houses the snaps and zipper, is not in the middle centerline of the body. I don't know if this was intentional or if it is a design flaw. If you look closely at the picture you can see that the placket is closer to one pocket than to the other. The overall look of the jacket is nice, but the off-center thing does kind of bother me.

I had an older style of this jacket and it was so worn out that I decided to purchase a new one. First off, it is very oversized. I normally wear a medium, I ordered a small in this and could have definitely ordered the extra small. The pockets are oddly placed and the hardware of the jacket is very noisy (think jingle bells while walking). The material is soft and comfortable and the color is exactly as shown.
