The cord would not properly connect to iphone

I bought this cord to connect my iphone and mac together to convert photos over, and it could not successfully connect into the iphone. It was loose plugging in and the iphone did not recognize the connection. The lighting connection could not successfully stay in place in the iphone and would pop itself out if slightly brushed. Thinking there might be something wrong with the iphone itself, for context I have an iphoneXR, I checked the iphone's physical socket by plugging in my charging lightning and USB cable which it immediately recognized and begun charging. It was extremely disappointing that a faulty product that could not carry out its main function of connecting USB C to Lightning sockets together was sold. 0/10 recommend lol.
