Heron Waterproof Jacket

LOVE this jacket! Searched and searched and searched--finally found the needle in a haystack! I've been looking for a nice, high-quality, well-made classic-yet-stylish spring coat that I can wear for work and for leisure for years. I can't tell you how many I've tried on and returned! I was about to give up when I found this one. Yes, it runs large! I tried a sz. 16 at first (I usually wear a 1X in other brands) but sized down to a 14, and it fits perfectly--even in the arms. (I have long arms, so I have a hard time finding a jacket with long enough sleeves.) I'm so excited to wear my new Barboour jacket in the Pacific Northwest rainy spring (also thick enough--not too light and flimsy like so many other "raincoats"--that it will be good for fall and for winter with layers)! Added bonus! The plaid lining is adorable!

I have several Barbour jackets. I think they are by far the best thing that Barbour makes. Their coats and jackets are all practical, casually stylish, well made and last forever. My oldest ones are still it great shape and still worn for mucking about. I needed an uninsulated waterproof coat, and this one is perfect though oversized. My other Barbour coats are sizes 8 or 10. This one in a size 8 was very roomy. I was able to order a size 6 and will see how that fits and will likely return the 8.

The other reviews are correct - this jacket does run large. I ordered a size down from what I would normally wear and there is still plenty of room for layering under the jacket. I purchased this item in Navy, and it looks very cute. I love the plaid lining on the collar and hood. Great coverage for a rainy travel day. Tall girl approved (5'10"), but I think it would also look great on a petite frame. I am happy with this purchase.
