Amanda Plaid Pants

I knocked off one star because the waist fasten does make the material "bulge" out a bit, as opposed to lying perfectly flat on the lower abdomen however, it is not a deal breaker by any means and if you wear a shirt over the top hem where a belt should be, it's not noticeable. The pants fit true to size however I will say that the difference between a 2 and 4 is minimal. I'm normally a 4 in these vanity sizes but I accidentally bought one slack in a 2 and one in a 4 in store and didn't notice until I got home. I love them so much that I then ordered a pair online in every design option (color) that they offered. The waist on the size 2 fits better for me than the 4, and I do NOT have a small waist (5.7 - and a half, and about 126 lbs). I believe the pants are made to wear over the hips as it does feel to be an ample waist with no belt loops - which is a bummer. I will likely add belt loops as a belt would correct the tiny subtle "bulge" in material where it fastens above the zipper but honestly, it's not necessary. I have lean hips and so for me these are a very flattering look. They pair well, in fit and color, from this season's Tahari's modal T's and thin sweaters. Paired with heels and a sweater or Tee and blazer, they are great for the office. They're also great with flats and T-shirt for weekends.
