Parker Platinum Super 130's Gabardine Dress Pants

These trousers are made from amazing fabric. The construction is miles ahead of other luxury brands I've tried, for example, Brooks Brothers and Canali. Yes, I think even Canali. The issue is sizing. Unlike the user in the other review, I found the fit rather snug in my typical size. I took them to the tailor and he made them okay. But I probably should have exchanged them for the next size up. So, I'm not sure what is going on with sizes. The other reviewer wrote his pair was so large that it could not even be tailored. Mine are a little snug even after the tailor let out the waist and seat as much as he could. Otherwise, probably the best dress trousers I own. And I have a lot.

I was really looking forward to have these unusual "dark burgundy" trousers in my wardrobe to wear with a navy sport coat that has deep wine red color in a near-plaid-like pattern. I ordered them online (no stores carry this unusual color). I picked them up at my local Nordstrom and tried them on. They were a slight-bit generous in the waist, but comfortably so. BUT...when I turned sideways, I could not believe what I was look at: massive amounts of fabric in a very baggy presentation in the seat and upper legs down to the knee. I reached back, grabbed the fabric, and pulled it outward/backward. It extended 6 inches behind me. It was if the pants had been mis-cut on the cutting room table in the factory. No amount of tailoring could have fixed it either...the amount of fabric to "remove" was too voluminous. The bagginess was more pronounced than the late 1980's and early 1990's when "baggy" was "in." The odd thing is that the images in the ad for these pants online, and this Dark Burgundy color, show a nice-fitting pant in the seat and legs, like all Zanella trousers normally appear. I have at least 5-6 pairs of Zanella trousers, and they all fit perfectly. I immediately walked the pants back to the Nordstrom "pickup" area and returned them. I am afraid to order them again because they are likely cut the same. I am so disappointed because that color was perfect for my sport coat to pull the wine red color out of the sport coat. "Oh well."
