My Go-To-Tote
I purchased my tote in 2019. I have several totes similar in shape and size but his one is my go-to when I can’t decide. The color, feel of the leather, durability, style and most importantly, the way it has aged. I am a huge fan.

Quality has gone downhill drastically

Beautiful tote
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag has gorgeous leather. Thick and supple. It holds itself up without spilling over but is wonderfully squishy. The black with the tan straps is just a beautiful combo. Even without having a zipper on top I feel secure carrying my belongings. Please bring this back Madewell!

Best leather tote ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my first Madewell zip tote 10 years ago whilst in NYC on holiday. It is the most beautiful practical classic tote I could have hoped for, still going strong. I planned to buy the black for work this year, only to hear they're not available!?! Madewell, this bag is a true classic. When will we see it back in our baskets?

Disappointed with the quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Within a month of purchasing this, which was my first investment in a nice bag for work, it disappointed me in the quality of the material on how quickly the color changes with having a laptop inside of it and can tell the outline from the outside with just carrying it to work for one week. It seems like paper and looks like I've had it for years rather than a barely used new bag. It also causes me shoulder pain which I never had with my previous bags and the same work items within it.
