Very Pleasantly Surprised!

At first I was a bit skeptical about getting another pair of Gaviotas since my first Hokas were Gaviota 2’s and while very comfortable when I tried them on, soon became increasingly uncomfortable and I finally gave them away. But thesecGaviota 4’s are a totally different story—and are among the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn! I have very flat feet, so it’s not often that I can say this about a pair of shoes—even Hokas! I wore these Gaviota 4’s directly out of the box to a local street fair-/walked around the fair for nearly 3 hours (over 2 miles) without needing to sit down once—and my feet didn’t hurt at all! I might add that I am 81 years old..and these Hoka Gaviota 4’s have already become my favorite “go to” shoes!

Unwilling to help with product quality issues

Shoes were great until sole started to detach from the shoe this month (April). Purchased at Nordstrom Rack in January 2024 for $120. Tried to return to Nordstrom Rack store, manager refused to take the shoes back as it was outside the 30 day return window. No additional assistance offered (where to file a warranty claim, etc). Contacted Nordstrom customer service again. They were very polite and sympathetic. Offered to write an incident ticket, but couldnt do anything else. Another store was kind enough to help me regenerate receipt so i can try to return to Hoka warranty process. Very disappointed in Nordstrom Rack, Nordstrom. No longer want to shop at either store brand anymore. Will go down the street to the running shoe store and pay more.

Least comfortable running shoe I’ve ever worn

The soles are not level. I have tried wearing the shoes few times since 2/1/24 purchase, but they hurt, feel no support and they cause my toes to go numb. I want a refund. The worst running shoe I’ve ever worn.. sorry

Wet supportive

My podiatrist recommended I get stability shoes to help with problems related to flat feet. These were the most comfortable, it might be well without resorting to a larger size or needing to get a wider shoe.

Terrible shoe that squeaks

I wanted to love this shoe because the color is fun! But the shoes squeak with every step I take on a wood floor (embarassing if I'm at a gym or anywhere indoors), and there is zero arch support inside these shoes. I tried walking in them for 20 mins but my heels start to hurt, and I don't even have plantar fasciitis so I can't imagine how these would feel for someone with that condition... overall, not a comfortable shoe at all. And I usually go through 20 shoes a year with my running habits!!

Don’t buy unless you want a wide sneaker

I was disappointed with the sneaker. I had a good experience with the Arahi sneaker, but these felt like they were exceptionally wide, and my foot was moving all around. Unfortunately, I didn’t discover this until after. I wore the sneaker outside for several days and I can’t return them. If you buy them directly from Hoka, they let you return up to 30 days after trying them out

Hoka Gaviota running shoes are awesome

Hoka Gaviota running shoes are awesome. Originally, the Gaviota 1 was recommended by my podiatrist following a foot injury. They fit my custom orthotics and provided great fit, stability and cushion. Later, Gaviota 3 was purchased but they narrowed the tie box and my orthotics no longer fit. I’ve now ordered 4 pair of Hoka Gaviota 4. Wonderful! Could not pass these up - great price. Best shoes for me and I suffer - heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, partial thickness tear plantar ligament, bunions, hammer toes and Morton’s neuroma. With these, and my orthotics, I walk pain free! Thanks Hoka!!! I pray Gaviota 5 will fit the same when I shift to that style
