Soft leather and comfortable
Purchased black, size 7. They are true to size. Comfortable right out of the box. No breaking in needed.

Design change
Ive been wearing these shoes for years. Upon buying a new pair I immediately noticed taking them out of the box that the feel was different even before trying them on. They were more stiff and less flexible and after putting them on it was evident these were nothing like the shoes I once had. Dansko changed the material and design. Online they look the same but the same they are not. These are horrible. The previous design felt like you were slipping into a soft cushiony slipper, like a soft leather glove . These are harder and stiffer with no bend. Not comfortable and the fit is awful. One size too big and the next size too small. I’m so disappointed. These once were the most comfortable shoes.

Good arch support
I sized down to a 38 from a 38, based in other reviews. Therefore, they are snug and I can’t wear thin socks if I need to. I hope they stretch a little more.

Recommended by orthopedist, but...
After a slight heel injury, Dansko was one of several brands recommended by an orthopedist. As it turns out, this shoe runs rather small for me when ordered in the size I would normally wear. Pewter color is nice enough, but fit is a bit small.
