Essential Short Boot (Women)

Okay, perhaps the word "essential" means cheap Koolaburra version of the UGG. Although lined like all UGGs, these have NO cushion and no support inside the boot. They feel NOTHING like the true Ugg classic. They feel hollow and cheap. Even the rubber sole is odd IMO. Anyway, was very disappointed. I question whether these are UGGs at all.

I’m writing this review based on the original price of this item ($180) compared to the original price of a very similar UGG boot (the classic ii genuine shearling boot, also $180). In terms of quality, appearance, and fit, these are NOT the same boot and should not have been priced the same by UGG. Ik this one is on sale now for $109, but I don’t think it’s worth that much tbh. UGGs are good for their original boot, but if you get one of the non-genuine shearling boots, you’re literally just paying to have “UGG” slapped on the back of the boot. This has the quality of an Amazon dupe that would cost you like $50. To break it down: Appearance: at first glance, they look the same. However this one is a darker black (not a good or bad thing, just something to note), and the fit around the ankle is “lumpy/creased” compared to the genuine shearling boot. This in turn can end up making your legs look stocky because of the creasing/bulk around the ankles. Not super flattering, especially for a boot that’s technically the same price. Quality: this one seems a bit clumsily put together in comparison to the genuine shearling version. As you can see in the photos (red arrow is pointing to this boot, the other boot is the genuine shearling boot), there is that lumpy appearance around the ankle. Same size boot. You can also feel that creasing around your ankle— maybe not as much if you aren’t comparing it to another boot, but the difference feels more obvious when you try the two on side by side. Additionally, the stitching on this boot has a “waviness” to it in comparison (this + material might be what’s causing the creasing around the ankle). Fit: this one fits a bit larger than the genuine shearling boot, which is a bit more snug but feels more… elastic, if that makes sense? This feels stiff/cardboard-like. Not a huge fan of the feeling. The soles seem similar, however this one’s outsole seems more rugged than the genuine shearling boot. That may be something to consider, but I don’t think that justifies marking it as the same price as a boot that has higher quality material. after all, completely natural materials tend to last very long if you take good care of them; this one seems to be blended with polyester— in which case, ask yourself why you’re buying a polyester blend from UGG? Just get a cheaper brand. If you want “UGG” on your boots then I guess you could get this, but if it’s not on sale, then I’d recommend the genuine shearling ones because those are the original version.
