looks better online
I bought a size 12 for my 12 year old and it was tiny. Thankfully we also have an 8 year old and it fits him perfect. It also appears to have completely faded after washing on the outside. When you look on the inside, the colors there match the swim trunks I bought to go with it, and it looks like the shirt was sewn on the wrong side.

Size way up!
These run very small. I originally purchased a size 4 for my 3 yr old. It was comically small. I then bought the 5-6 size, and it fit better and more like a 3T. As for quality, the first shirt's stitching was messy with lots of stray strings. The stitching was a little better on the second shirt, but it still feels cheap. The print is cute though and was a good shirt to have for a tropical vacation. But after coming back from vacation and washing it in the gentle cycle with cold water and letting it air dry, it shrunk. It's too snug when buttoned up now.
